Update reports that the driver is the latest. Troubleshooting reports that there is something wrong with HDAD driver which it does not fix. Tried removing just HDAD and installed IDT driver again - can't get rid of that driver. Checked Sound/Playback - now internal speakers and Headphone Communication listed - no HDMI. HDAD appeared with (!) as item (2) and IDT (CODEC) driver at (3). Deleted both HDADs and installed IDT driver from 2013 (only option) and rebooted. Checked Sound/Playback - internal speakers only listed.Ĭollected IDT Audio driver from HP Support. (I believe both HDADs had appeared lately from a Microsoft update but predated cable disconnect.)ĭeleted both HDADs and rebooted - both came back but second instance had (!) - no sound - tried again - same result. Followed instructions regarding Hard Reset and reboot - no sound.
Under Sound, Video and Game Controllers I have 1) Cyberlink Webcam Virtual Driver 2) High Definition Audio Device 3) High Definition Audio Device 4) NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) WMD. Connection has been working fine for weeks but after disconnecting HDMI cable to work away from TV sound didn't work when reconnected.
