Essentially, turning their habit of reading into a path toward successful entry into college or the start of a career. It would be interesting to see if there’s an opportunity to provide career and educational guidance to the older children in the facilities.
What do you hope to see regarding New Chapters’ efforts around Des Moines? Making a wide variety of books available to children who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to read. Is there an aspect of the New Chapters’ mission with which you connect more than others? And we wanted to help out in any way possible. New Chapters’ mission to make it possible for at-risk youth to have access to books is awesome. We’re both avid readers, and we feel it’s important for children to read. Why did you first donate to New Chapters? Ryan was introduced to Stacie to help her re-design the New Chapters website. We first heard about New Chapters back in the fall of 2018. When did you first hear about New Chapters? We are exceedingly grateful for Kristin and Ryan and their commitment to New Chapters. He is consulting on our nonfiction book selection. Ryan has read hundreds of nonfiction books covering topics of motivation, sales/marketing, leadership, and personal growth. New Chapters has a new project in the works offering literary support to members of our target audience who are now adults. Ryan’s company, Pixelayn Innovations, LLC designed our website and Ryan continues to provide invaluable technical support and advisement. They have been very generous with their time, expertise, and monetary resources to support New Chapters’ mission. Kristin has been an avid reader her entire life and while Ryan has only taken up the habit as an adult, he has become passionate about the power of literacy. Both Kristin and Ryan place a high value on the importance of reading and make it a priority within their family. This month we would like to shine a spotlight on two very special friends who support New Chapters in multiple ways. New Chapters is blessed with many friends who support our mission through volunteering, in-kind donations and monetary gifts.
